Who is Herb, what’s Herblandia, what’s the story?
Hi, I’m Herb and I live in Portugal. Apart from working as a creative director and illustrator for years. I’ve also been going on expeditions to Herblandia to document its diverse ecosystem and getting to know all the species of Herbies.
Herbandia is the amazing world inside my head where all the Herbies live. It has jungles and plains, forests and deserts, oceans and rivers, grassland and swamps. And there are Herbies of all shapes and sizes, with different personalities and talents. everywhere 🙂
Until recently, Herbies only materialised as drawings and illustrations. When the Covid Pandemic hit the world and we were all confined at home, the Herbies slowly started to become real sculptures with the mission to help bring some joy to the world.
The first Herbies I sent to family and friends had an immediate effect, they brought smiles to peoples faces, company to those who where alone and became an affectionate part of every household.
(Maybe it’s also because, as I later found out, every Herbie graduates in Feng-Shui before leaving Herblandia 
Word got round in Herblandia about how the first Herbies where spreading joy and living happy lifes, so more and more Herbies wanted come to our world and go live in caring households.
To make it happen, they had be hand made, one by one, which means a lot of time. and although Herbies don’t care about material costs,hour rates, living expenses, shipping costs, any costs actually, they do understand the concept of time ;).
Then a Charming Charlie shouted: “Why don’t you create one of those things (he meant website) in your glowing book (my laptop) where people can go to meet us and tell you they want us to go live with them (online shop)?.”
Problem solved 🙂 I left them celebrating and started to get things going.
And this brings us to where we are today. A website were the Herbies can show off (and stop bugging me) and people can order one or more and make them very happy 
I keep a journal on every expedition to Herblandia where I draw sketches and make a record of my observations of the Herbies in the wild. It’s how I am able to create them for real whenever they decide to come live amoung us. You can check it our here and also on Instagram. Who knows which new Herbies will show up?
